Day 4 - Columbia Falls (Glacier Inn Motel) on Weather Hold (We "Hole Up" for 1 Day)
Above:
We made a very smart decision, in hindsight, to sit this day out from the weather.
We knew 4 days earlier that a front was coming but its arrival time and strength was sketchy.
We watched the TV News and Weather Channel on yesterday's evening reports.
We determined that today was going to be a miserable day (cold, windy, and wet with an intermittent mix of rain, sleet, and snow).
Montana is getting its first Fall weather storm on September 10, 2014 (today).
We decided to HOLE UP for 24 hours.
The following day will be bright, clear, and sunny albeit chilly.
Above Left: We walked into town (Columbia Falls, MT) during a rain break. Note the heat wave temperature in Fahrenheit.
Above Right: This will be our breakfast.
Above: Looking east (from Columbia Falls, Montana) at the recent snow fall. At our slightly lower elevation it only rained or sleeted. Tomorrow will be a much nicer day on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR).
