Day 10 Begins
Above Left: Biking south out of Yangshou again. We have overcast skies but it does not rain.
There is a typhoon off the east coast of China heading for Japan (for the 2nd time since we have been here in China) and the humidity backs up on the far west side of the Typhoon (right where we are, again).
Above Right: Terry and Dennis (taking the picture) own the road again.
Above Left: Truck carrying small tour boats.
Above Right: Small tour boats.
Above Left: Mountains - If one looks closly, they can see through the emerging arch of Moon Hill which is just barely visible in the image's center.
Above Right - An Annoyance: Each of these ladies selected a specific one of us in our bike tour group and followed that person from beginning to end, trying to sell post cards, sodas, or calendars; they also had fans and fanned their person, whether or not desired. Some of them made sells, some did not, and some called their person a No Good Cheap Skate. We carried our own bike bottles and everyone in our group was in good Physical Shape.
Above Left: Our destination, the arch, is a climb at about 45° of about 800 steps.
Above Right: The information.
Above Left: One of the views.
Above Right: Terry and Dennis Struck in China.
Above Left: The Gang; I wish that I had a picture of Vincent holding everyone's camera.
Speaking of Cameras, and remember that everyone is a very experienced traveler and bike adventure cyclist, each camera was different other than there were five Olympus Stylus Tough Cameras (all versions were waterproof, drop proof, and rugged) including Dennis' camera.
Above Right: We're back down at the bottom, ready for lunch.
Above Left: Cafe.
Above Right: Menu.
Above Left: Lunch room.
Above Right: Decor.
Above Left: Garden Flower.
Above Right: The cleaning crew and tomorrow's lunch special.
Above Left: Cold water tap.
We drink boiled water, bottled water, and boiled water tea for hot drinks. For cold drinks we drink beer or Coca Cola.
Above Right: On the road again.
Above: Mountains and views.
Above: Terry and Dennis find very interested and very smart grade school students who want to speak English, shake hands, and check out these cool westerner bicycles (that are made in China).
Above Left: Cool new house; we're now heading home again and scenery is looking familiar (ergo, no pictures).
Above Right: 500 meters to go, but way before we get there and unbeknownst to us, one of our riders crashes as a result of a wrong way truck. Luckily we were in a tourist town and it has a modern hospital (and our guide knows what to do). Mary is treated, cleansed, stitched, and medicated within 30 minutes.
Above Left: Silk Paint Shop on the way to the waterfront.
Above Right: Gazebo at the waterfront.
Above Left: Boat coming in, Mountains, Water Buffalo - All is good in the world.
Above Right: Our boat and Captain, she's operating the anchor (a drop pole into a lined center hole); Regina and Vincent in the foreground.
The boat Captain is training her son and his son has his daughter on board (guessing 3 years old).
Above Left: River bottom weed gatherer.

Above Left: Trainee Captain at helm, daughter playing with Vincent; Wayne watching.
Above Right: Photo Journalism Humor - Regina sights through a $100 camera while holding a $1000 macro/telescopic camera in her other hand.
The backs of Sharon, Lynn, and Chrissy in the foreground (L-R).
Above Left: See the beautiful mountains.
Above Right: See the sacred buffalo?
Above Left: Riverside village.
Above Right: Granddaughter hanging out the boat, backward, by Grandmother's hands; Son is Piloting the boat.
Above: Grandmother gave Granddaughter peanuts in shells. Granddaughter gave some peanuts to Terry and Dennis. Dennis gave his peanuts to Terry. Terry demonstrates how to open peanut shells - it's kind of tough for a 3 year old. Granddaughter delicately takes the nut from Terry's half-shell. This went on for about eight minutes; the absolute end of a 3 year old's attention span.
Above Left: White Egrets (I think) Take Flight.
Above Right: Water Buffalo Convention.
Humor: Jurassic Brontosaurus' on the sky line (actually Bamboo).
Above Left: Two males face off.
Above Right: Sunset view.
Above: Boat Captain Homes.
Above: Silk Paint Art.
Above: Heavy duty doors.
Above: For this night's Dinner, we are given strange implements that we have not seen in China yet (for 10 or 11 days). We aren't sure what to do with these eating implements so Reg attempts to use the implements as he would Chop Sticks.
Above: This is the Last Supper and Goodbye Ceremony with our Truck Driver (Monsoon Moe) and Bicycle Fleet Manager (Foo Man Choo). In both cases, Jon is handling the goodbye duties very well and Iris is interpreting. Iris was a jewel to have on our trip as she spoke Cantonese, Mandarin, and English (Same as Vincent - Iris is Australian).
Above Left: Chinese Humor (sounds like Minnie Mouse).
Above Right: The Yangshou bridge has colored night lights as viewed just befor we turn in for the night.
