Highlights
    Day 1:
  • We wanted to be off the road by noon-time.
  • If it weren't for the midday heat, we could bike this route all the from Abiquiu to Cuba, NM.
  • We planned and did stop at in Santa Fe National Forest to spend the night (Wild Camp).
  • We planned extra water for the overnight, however we could have bought some at the Coyote Store.
  • The cycling part of the journey had no tall passes, but an easy all day climb.
  • We carried books to read during the hot part of the day and we sat in the shade of tall Ponderosas.
  • It did rain that night with lightning sky rumbles, no strikes near us.
