Bicycle Tour Adventure #39: Germany, Day 4

Hamburg: Morning (Laundry Day)
Power breakfast. Subway Terminal - Stephanplatz.
Above Left: Power breakfast.

Above Right: Subway Terminal - Stephanplatz. I'm taking a subway out of town to a laundry mat. There are no laundry mats in town but there are plenty of dry cleaners. It took a lot of effort to get a location and directions from the hotel staff because they would do my laundry and charge by the piece, like €4 for a pair of socks. I ended up doing a full load for about €10 + 2 for the subway pass.

The Central Laundry Money/Machine Controller. the Germans are just as interested in Jackie as the Americans.
Above Left: The Central Money/Machine Controller: Generally, when I see something like this in Europe, I know that we will see it here in the USA in a year or two. The money controller allows you to pay for washing and drying and buy/dispense soap and bleach from one coin operation and to operate multiple washers and dryers. The trick is that one must have physical possession of the machine, i.e. your clothes better be in the machine or you may be paying for someone else's wash or dry cycle.

Above Right: Cover of a Magazine that was laying around, Gee the Germans are just as interested in Jackie as the Americans, go figure. [The Germans will Always remember President JFK's and Jackie's visit to Berlin and the USA's help with the Berlin Airlift].
