Day 3 - Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to Amesbury, Massachusetts
Above: Murals at our hotel parking lot - We were on our way to breakfast,
Above Left (L-R): Terry, Steve, Karen, Vickie, Lil Karen, Gary, Judy, and Pam. The Breakfast Club at a sort of Travel Diner.

Rye River and the Rye Coastal Area
Above Left: Rye River and Rye coastal area for many miles.
Above Right: Oceanside foliage.
Above: Stacked Stones - The idea evolved from Asian Zen Gardens but the practice is becoming a thing in the USA and some people are spreading their idea of beauty or art around the globe.
Many people consider Stone Stacking to be a form of Environmental Vandalism and some USA and Foreign Land Management Agencies have Policies and Directives instructing to knock-down the stacked stones on sight.
Above Left: Fall foliage on the New Hampshire coastline.
Above Right: This Nautical Heart Theme was observed around Rye, NH.
Above: Rye, NH, Lobster Shacks!

Above: So many Lobster Shacks, so little time.
Above Left: Another wetland estuary in the Rye coastal area of NH.
Above Right: This looks like a Lesser Sandhill Crain.

Little Boars Head of North Hampton
Above Left: Little Boars Head (a nautical geographic feature as seen from the ocean).
Above Right: The New Hampshire highway sign looks to have a profile of The Old Man of the Mountain in its upper-left side (a well known Landmark of New Hampshire). Hwy-111 is the main road to and from the US-1 (in North Hampton), we were on coastal Hwy-1A.

(Snack Break and Down Time)

Massachusetts
Above Left: Saltwater Tall Grass in the sunlight - Somewhere around the taking of this photo, we had unceremoniously slipped into Massachusetts on US Hwy-1A.
Above Right: A few miles later, in Newburyport, MA, on the Merrimack River (US-1) we walked our bike over the bridge. I actually messed up the instructions, we were supposed to walk the bike across a pedestrian walkway but I had turned onto the bridge (US Hwy-1) before reading the walkway restriction, so we just walked on the shoulder and luckily traffic was rather light. I did get a 'wrist slap' (comment) from one of the guides - Mea Culpa.
Abovet: Merrimack River boat docks viewed from the bridge on US-1 in Newburyport, MA.
Above: The remnants of an Old Style Railroad Turn-Bridge on the Merrimack River, Newburyport, MA.
Above Left: Halloween Decorations in Newburyport, MA.
Above Right: We rode out of Newburyport into rural Massachusetts - That is Lil Karen and Gary ahead of us.
Reconnecting with and Cycling Along the Merrimack River
Above Left: The name Coffin Street makes a person wonder; Coffin Street led us back to the Merrimack River (up-river from the city of Newburyport, MA).
Above Right: The Merrimack River.
The Merrimack River Bridge at Rocks Village
Above Left: The Merrimack River Bridge at Rocks Village - If one looks carefully, it looks like Steve, Karen, and Judy are being photographed crossing the bridge (Photo by Pam). The word Monitor keeps popping into my head.
Above Right: This was the bridge view as the Bee crossed the Bridge.
Above Left: This one room building was at the end of the bridge, I suspect that it was a toll collection office at one time or that it had to do with traffic control (road or river).
Above Right: Merrimack River - We are riding downstream, now on the opposite side (from before crossing over the bridge).
Above Left: A boat on the Merrimack River.
Above Right: This is our last photograph of the day, it is the Powow* River crossing which is just outside of Amesbury proper, our destination for the day. *Local Spelling
