Breakfast at the Sanford Dunkin' Donuts!
Above Left: Dunkin' Donuts are very popular in New England, every town seems to have a Dunkin' Donuts.
Above Right: We're being treated to Breakfast at Dunkin' Donuts. Terry had a Pumpkin Muffin and I had the equivalent of two Egg McMuffins with Bacon and we quite enjoyed breakfast (Hot Chocolate and Coffee respectively).
The bikes remain ready for their Riders.
Above: On the road again and Fall is in the air.
This day's 42 mile ride could be divided into three nearly equal distance segments, the first segment is north bound, the second east bound, and finally northeast into South Portland. Today, Judy would be the Ride Leader and Pam would take the Vehicle Helm.
Above: I've learned to recognize Vickie's Red Jacket but I'm not sure who the other riders were (Judy, Gary, & Karen I suspect).
Everyone knew what they were doing and they knew how to navigate, so Fearless Leader Judy got to float back and forth and visit with each of the riders.
Above Left: That's Judy on the left side, snapping some candid photos.
Above Right: Fall Foliage and another rider ahead.
Above Left: Fall Foliage.
Above Right: That's Judy on the left, Lil Karen on the right, and Vickie in the distance.
SAG Stop at Lyman, Maine
Above Left: SAG Stop at Lyman, Maine - Judy on the left, Lil Karen, Terry, Karen, Vickie, and Steve.
Above Right: Yellow Jackets loved the sweet Apples - This was our last SAG Stop, they sure did put up good spreads.
Above Left: Lyman Church, Vickie & Lil Karen ahead.
Above Right: Fall foliage, Vickie & Lil Karen ahead.
Above Left: Fall Foliage and Country Club.
Above Right: Remembrance of Tuscany.
Above: Most of the time, when there was one rider ahead of us, it was Lil Karen. We had a very similar pace, we were a little slower on accents and a little quicker on descents (gravity affects riding two-up).
Above: Fall Foliage - These are our last photographs. After this picture, traffic got busy and Navigation became a Team Management Project. We still got lost going through one of the South Portland Mall areas, one mile from the destination. We thought that there was one Mall but there were two Malls, one on each side of the Interstate. I did not track mileage distance after our turn for the Mall and frustration ensued. We just stopped and called Judy who in-turn called Pam and she came to us in the Van and then we followed her under the Interstate Overpass and then everything made sense. We finished the ride on the bike.
Summary
This Day's Riding was a joy, in spite of the Hiccup at the end.
As far as for the entire tour, we found it to be well organized, Judy and Pam were wonderful leaders.
We came in expecting more of an Inn to Inn style of bicycle tour and more of a woodland tour,
But the tour went exactly as advertised. We came to appreciate the tour more over time. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour, the fellow riders, and the tour leaders.
